Some Things I Have Learned

Here are some ways of thinking, being and achieving I have discovered that have been helpful to me and to clients.  I hope they will provoke some insightful thought and self-examination and that they may also be of help to you:

1.    I have learned that people are doing the best they can with what they know, and   sometimes they just don’t know.

2.    I have learned that the secret to living is giving not getting.

3.    I have learned that anger, fear and shame can paralyze people.

4.    I have learned that it’s all just a State of Mind.

5.    I have learned that it’s easier to criticize than to empathize.

6.    I have learned that it is easier to be part of the problem than part of the solution.

7.    I have learned that I have seen the enemy and it is I.

8.    I have learned that is not just what you know but what you do with what you know that makes a difference.

9.    I have learned that a winner never quits and a quitter never wins.

10.    I have learned that to err is human and that we are all human.

11.    I have learned that only through failure can certain lessons be learned.

12.    I have learned that mercy and forgiveness may be difficult but are necessary.

13.    I have learned that you will never find what you’re looking for, unless you know what you’re looking for before you go looking for it.

14.    I have learned that Attitude is more important than knowledge.

15.    I have learned that if you sow an action you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.

16.    I have learned that to master yourself, you must first master your habits; otherwise they will quickly master you.

17.    I have learned that to obtain your goals you must keep your mind on the things you want and off the things you don’t want.

18.    I have learned that you cannot simply have faith – you must use it.

19.    I have learned that spiritual submissiveness to God is not an act of blind faith, but of deliberate obedience.

20.    I have learned that there are times in a person’s life that when there is no human capable of relieving the intense anguish that comes upon men at desperate times.  There is only God.

21.    I have learned that sometimes it is not sufficient to do your best, you must do whatever is necessary.

22.    I have learned that sometimes striving is more important than arriving.

23.    I have learned that pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

24.    I have learned that obstacles are things you see when you lose sight of goals.

25.    I have learned that a well-balanced ego is not subject to serious influence by either commendation or condemnation.

26.    I have learned that is a weakness to measure everything and everyone by your own impressions and beliefs.

27.    I have learned it’s a peculiar thing that no more effort is required to aim high, to demand prosperity and abundance, than is required to accept misery and poverty, so we should aim high.

28.    I have learned that enthusiasm is power.

29.    I have learned that if you say it with deeds that words will become unnecessary.

30.    I have learned that truth will be truth regardless of a closed mind, ignorance, or refusal to believe.
